About the Hall

The hall has been used at various times for boxing, gymnastics, balls, collections of rates, police court, picture theatre, the RSL and billiards along with a host of other community activities.

The original hall underwent some major renovations throughout its lifetime including a reconstruction in 1961. It served the community well until funding was secured (both state and local government) for a $1.7 million facility to replace the existing hall. The Premier at the time, Jeff Kennett, made the funding available in April 1988 and the original hall was demolished after a farewell function in November 1998.

The new complex was officially opened on Monday December 6, 1999 by the Hon. Robert Cameron MP Minister for Local Government and Workcover.
