EVENT DATE: 7 & 8 November 2014
The Dad Show is a new performance project by Bron Batten, in which she will curate local contemporary artists to create and perform new short works with their own fathers. Collaborating artists from the Macedon area include Christian Bagin, Michael Langley, Sarah Lockwood, Hannah Monagle, Wes Snelling and Henry Vyhnal. The Dad Show is inspired by Bron’s award winning theatre show Sweet Child of Mine which she created with her parents in 2011 and has since toured to Perth, Sydney, Adelaide and Chicago. The work will open a dialogue through art, reaching out across the generation gap to facilitate a meeting of child, parent and audience in an open artistic space, where familial connections and tensions can be explored playfully through live performance. The first incarnation of this project has been supported by Punctum Inc through the Sidney Myer Fund and will take place in St Mary’s Hall in the Kyneton township in November 2014.
