Whyalla Youth Music Network Sessions

EVENT DATE: Tuesday 14 & 28 November 2017

Every Tuesday fortnight Whyalla Music Association throws open it’s band hall doors to Whyalla’s New and Emerging Youth Talent. This offer is the direct of a local music survey the group did to find out what Whyalla’s Musical Youth wanted in regards to support. Interestingly the youth surveyed did not want tuition but rather a safe place to meet, Network, Jam and be creative while supervised by the groups committee members. Each week the Whyalla Youth Music Network Sessions have been growing organically in numbers and we look forward to outcomes in the near future. Already we have new and emerging talent getting support acts with local bands or their own small solo gigs. In November 2017 out hall will be open on Tuesdays 14th and 28th.

ABOUT THE HALL
In October 2014 Whyalla Music Association took over the lease of the hall from the Whyalla City Council. It has been a long process to get the hall into a comfortable venue to use but it is now used regularly for small events. Workshops, mentoring programs, meetings. In September 2017 Whyalla Music Association started to open the hall door each Tuesday fortnight as a place for Whyalla’s new and emerging Youth talent to meet, network, Jam, and be creative, whilst under the supervision of our members and other local music identities.
