Fresh & Unframed Art Exhibition

EVENT DATES: 2 – 6 November

The Arts Yackandandah “Fresh and Unframed” Art Exhibition is a Yackandandah community event coordinated and run by local volunteers. The exhibition aims to encourage local emerging and established artists to exhibit and sell their work and brings local affordable art for sale to the community. The “Haldane Slatter Memorial Art Award” in memory of renowned Yackandandah artist, Hal Slatter, is awarded at the Opening Celebration. Fresh & Unframed is a well celebrated art exhibition which attracts increased number of visitors to the town as it is widely promoted throughout Indigo Shire.

ABOUT THE HALL
The court house at Yackandandah was built in 1864 as both a mining and magistrate’s court. Designed by Gustav Joachimi of the Public Works Department in a conservative classical style, the single storey brick structure with corrugated iron roof, is set on a granite base. The building comprises a simple gable court room with three main rooms situated at the rear and a hipped brick porch at the front.
