The hall will be 60 years old next year. It is the largest public venue for the town and over the decades has hosted many events. 40 years ago films were shown on a regular basis and it is now exciting to have them return to the town with state of the art equipment to show them. Many a ball has been held with dancers enjoying the surpurbe wooden floor to dance on. All large public events are held in the hall such as weddings, funerals and public meetings. In the last 2 years a restoration of the hall has been underway. New curtains, ramps to replace steps, a major fan for cooling and many small improvements.
